Colorado holds endless opportunities for adventures.  Here are some pictures of adventures we have had in.

Hiking Mt Evans:

Cindy and Michael take a day hike on Mt. Evans, right around the time the Aspen turn.  Mt Evans is one of Colorado's 54 Fourteeners (mountains exceeding 14,000 feet) and along with Pikes Peak are the only two you can drive to the top of.  Mt Evans has the highest paved road in North America -- as you'll see in the pictures!

Trail Project

Cindy, Mike, Sarah, and Severin participated in a trail project on Pikes peak sponsored by the Friend of the Peak.

Buffalo Hunt

Mike and Cindy accompanied Eric and Steve Hendrickson on a buffalo hunt in Wyoming and shared in the spoils, which were a freezer full of buffalo steaks.

Hiking Little Wild Horse Canyon and Goblin Valley State Park

Mike, Cindy, Seann, and Calvin accompanied Mike Mercer on a day-and-a-half whirlwind trip to Utah.  This trip included a hike in a "Narrows," a visit to Goblin Valley, and a return flight through Monument Valley.

Kayaking

Cindy and Mike have a pair of recreational kayaks and the summer of 2007 went kayaking on several lakes around Colorado.

Hiking Greenland Open Space

A large, well maintained trial runs right behind our property, the New Santa Fe Trail.  It runs from Palmer lake, past our home, through the town of Monument, through the Air Force Academy and into Colorado Springs.  At the north end of this trail you can hop across the road and about a quarter mile East to pick up the trail system on the Greenland Open Space. This are is backdropped by some wonderful mesas and spans a wide open landscape of grasses and wildflowers on rolling hills.
